This Month in Classic Cars | Gallen Insurance
April is finally here. The month in which we all take the covers off our beloved classic cars and start enjoying the spring/summer driving season. It’s also the perfect time to get into classic car collecting, as well, but starting a hobby like classic car collecting can seem intimidating and expensive to newcomers. Well, you may not want to start out with a 1965 Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe but there are more affordable options, especially for those looking for a hands-on project.
This collector was looking for a fun summer sports car and found that this $1600 1974 Triumph Spitfire 1500 was the perfect car to start his collection.
But sometimes a rare treasure falls into your lap. Retired ironworker, Larry Brown, used to drive around in a 20 year old Ford pickup until his passing in September of 2013. As it turns out, Larry had purchased a new 1969 Ford Shelby GT500 from Eger dealership in McKeesport for $5200. It was discovered in his garage after his death with less than 8000 miles and all original parts. It’s expected to sell at auction in Centre County for $130,000.
Make sure to check back next month for more information on a great Classic Car Event at Denver Memorial Park.
