As we move forward with Health Insurance Reform, there are several changes on the horizon. Here at Gallen Insurance, we will continue to keep you, our clients and friends, up to date with these changes.
As of January, 2013, new women’s health services benefits will apply to members of health insurance plans.
Following is a list of the covered benefits:
- Well-women visits (annual routine physical, routine GYN exam & prenatal visits
- Screening for gestational diabetes
- Humane Papillomavirus (HPV) DNA testing
- Counseling for sexually transmitted infections
- Counseling & screening for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
- Screening & counseling for interpersonal and domestic violence
- Breastfeeding support, supplies and counseling
- Contraceptive methods & counseling
*exceptions, benefits vary in the states of CA & MO*
